'Between the stimulus and the response there is a space, and in the space is your power and your freedom.' ~ Viktor Frankl
This is one of my favourite quotes describing the difference between reacting and responding. Consider if you are reacting or responding in your life? Do you allow time for the pause; the space before your response? In that space is where you get to make important choices and exercise your values.
Take time to pause, notice your feelings, be with them and then respond from a place of compassion for yourself and others.
Also, with COVID we are being forced to pause. It's been forcing us to slow down, to take stock, to reflect and to feel what we've been blocking and numbing. How are you using your pause? Are you motoring through and not allowing yourself to feel the uncomfortable bits coming up? Or are you giving yourself permission to be with what's there. The pause can be confronting and it can bring much to the surface but it is where your power and strength lies. It's where you're able to make a choice as to how you want to respond.
